As we move into October and November, the focus for most people is usually on the autumn holidays--Halloween, Veteran's Day, and Thanksgiving. While these celebrations are certainly important and valuable, we at the Dream Merchant often take a deeper look at the autumn months.
The beauty of the season, with its vast array of color, is a great reminder that there's beauty in all phases of life, that nature erupts with creativity even as certain things age and change. And we think the same thing applies to human beings. We all age, but our creative spirit not only remains strong, it can be a vital force for change in the world.
And so we continue to honor our nation's retirees, whose spirit continues to add great things to our country and the world. Not only have these people already contributed to our society, their contribution doesn't need to stop. Seniors have a wealth of experience and a capacity to approach problems and find creative solutions.
Here's to all our retired citizens who explore those solutions in their home workshops and labs, who refuse to fade away in front of the television. To us, they represent the very best of America--brimming with experience and still willing to share that experience with the world.
If you're one of those creative retirees, then bless you. If not, perhaps you'd like to join the ranks. Do you have an idea for a product or service that could benefit people? Then get out in the workshop and make it happen. Learn all you can about invention, prototyping, marketing and small business. Put your experience to work. Get out there with other creative retirees and make a difference. We're all grateful.
