The Editor's Desk... with Mike Foley
In this issue, our last of the winter season, we decided to feature George Torok's wonderful article on Albert Einstein and creative thinking. The article uses quotes from Einstein to offer us a glimpse at the great man's thinking process and his views on creativity.
And isn't creativity the driving force for what we do? Over the years, we at the Dream Merchant have encountered hundreds of successful inventors and small business owners. As we look back, one thing stands out among such people--creativity. These are all talented individuals, willing to take risks, and willing to use imagination to solve problems.
In Torok's feature, he shares Einstein's quote about imagination, the idea that imagination is more important than knowledge.
When you think about successful products and services, each and every one began with a simple idea, a simple flash in the human imagination. Imagination allows us to forget the past, to forget limitations, to forget all the reasons why we can't do something. Imagination helps us find new solutions, giving us fresh ways of looking at problems, new methods for solving them.
Our imaginations are the basis for human progress on this planet.
As we move through the remainder of winter and head toward spring, we encourage you to imagine, to flex your imaginative muscles and have a little fun. Life is full of new possibilities, new approaches, new solutions. Someone, somewhere, will discover these. Why not you?
Honor your imagination regularly. What you discover might just change the world.
Best of luck with all your great ideas.
