CARRY GRATITUDE FORWARD

As I write this, we're less than two weeks from Thanksgiving, which kicks off the annual holiday season. Over the years, I've come to appreciate Thanksgiving more--the idea of gratitude is, I think, a powerful tool, one that I hope most people can cultivate far beyond the holidays.

Is it enough to give thanks one day a year, in late November? I don't think so. Why limit our gratitude, when there are so many opportunities to express it every day? That's right--there are plenty of things to be grateful for. Most of us simply don't notice them. The opportunities can be large or small--a simple "hello" from a stranger or a lager focus like gorgeous weather, good health, a feeling of well being or the love of friends and family members.

"Great," you might say. "Nice sentiment. But what's this have to do with the Dream Merchant?"

Everything.

Our readers tend to be creative people, idea people focused on new products and services, working with concepts that could eventually change life for the better. Our readers have a tremendous gift--the gift of vision and the energy to shape that vision and help it blossom.

Does that describe you? If so, isn't that a gift to be grateful for? I think so. You've been given a talent that can change our lives. Be thankful every day that you have the opportunity to create something which can have such an incredible impact.

And if you practice that gratitude daily, you'll discover that gratitude feeds a positive attitude, which in turn feeds your creativity. The result? Even more ideas, more creative breakthroughs. Not a bad deal.

We at the Dream Merchant hope you can carry the spirit of gratitude forward into the New Year.

We wish you all the best for the holiday season and 2011.
