As we continue to make the transition to our new Internet format, we're still testing our layout options, fine tuning the web site and...falling in love with the Internet.Although we've had our web site up and running for more than a year, it hadn't been our main focus at the Dream Merchant. We had a successful print publication and were committed to that format in bringing the latest invention and product development information to our readers.
But the power of the Internet eventually became apparent to everyone here. Not only did we receive many visitors to our new (and still unadvertised) web site, phone calls flooded our office from Internet visitors who wanted more information on developing and marketing their ideas. The ultimate outcome of all this was soon obvious--we could eliminate our growing paper and print costs and reach a much larger audience by putting the Dream Merchant online.
The decision was not an easy one. Saying goodbye to a magazine we could hold in our hands and carry with us was tough. We were leaving a piece of our personal history, parting with an old friend. And we know the transition wasn't easy on many of our readers, who had also grown used to having Dream Merchant issues as part of their personal libraries.
Fortunately, as we enter the 21st century, more people worldwide will own computers and have Internet access. Millions of people will begin taking advantage of the information and opportunities offered in cyberspace. We at the Dream Merchant intend to be a part of that. And, of course, articles can still be printed from computers and added to your hard copy magazine library.
Please join us as we continue our commitment to bringing readers the very best information on invention, marketing, product development and patent protection. Here's hoping the new century is bright and successful for everyone.
Good luck with your great ideas.
