ARISING FROM LOVE

Ideas can be born anywhere, in a variety of individuals and creative settings. College labs and visionary corporations certainly create new product and service ideas, but most often, ideas arise in the hearts and minds of everyday people. Sometimes, it's a burning desire to change the world or the drive to find a better way of doing things.

But at other times, ideas emerge from the deep human emotions. A case in point can be found in this issue's feature story on successful entrepreneur Sharon Rogone. A neonatal nurse, Rogone's heart went out to premature infants who often suffer discomfort during the first few weeks of life in intensive care units. Her first product, the Billi-Bonnet, eventually spawned Small Beginnings, a thriving business featuring more than 15 products for premature infants and medical professionals.

Rogone's success grew naturally out of a common human emotion that is often overlooked as a source of opportunity--Love. By focusing her love on those in need, Rogone found more than mere business success. She also discovered a new passion for life and work.
