YOUR STARTUP BUSINESS: KITCHEN SPECIALIST If You're Good at Cleaning in the Kitchen, This Business Could be For You.
By Bonnie Drew
The average homeowner seldom has time to do a really thorough cleaning in the kitchen. Yet the kitchen can be the dirtiest spot in the house. After a while, grease and spills build up, and the job is an all-day affair. It should easily be worth $75-$100 to have an energetic cleaning specialist take care of the problem. This would also be a great business for a team, with each member specializing in a particular area of the kitchen.
Your kitchen detailing job may include:
* Washing the fronts of all cabinets* Applying furniture oil to wood cabinets
* Detailed cleaning of stove top, oven, and microwave
* Cleaning toasters and coffee makers
* Cleaning all countertops and sinks and removing stains
* Using a soft cloth and toothbrush to clean the door on the dishwasher
* Cleaning out the refrigerator
* Using appliance cleaner on the exterior of the refrigerator
* Sweeping the floor
* Mopping the floor and cleaning baseboards
* Cleaning fingerprints around light switches and doors
If you don't have an entire Saturday to spend on one customer's kitchen, arrange to do the job on two afternoons after school. Always ask satisfied customers for names of friends who might want the same service.
