INEXPENSIVE ADS

Many Business Owners Shy Away From Traditional Advertising, Unable to Afford the Rising Costs. Here's How to Advertise Without Laying Out the Big Bucks!

By Gary Christensen

People constantly ask me how anyone can afford to advertise in Newspapers and Magazines, where you have to pay $5 or more for every word in your ad. I tell them straight out--I pay very little for my own advertising! Here's how I get a LOT of advertising without paying a LOT of money:

1. Articles--I write a lot of articles, trying to help as many people as I can with the information I offer. And I get a Free Ad at the end of each article I write.

2. Phone Calls--I stay in touch with old customers and new contacts by phone. It's amazing the kind of response I receive by making use of my phone and making a lot of personal, one-to-one calls.

3. Classes--You can hold a special class at a local University or High School. Talk about your business for Free! Give out suggestions, ideas, tip about business, etc.

4. Email--You can send out THOUSANDS of emails every month for just one low monthly fee (the email account). If you don't have your own computer, you can rent one, or use one at your local library without cost, PLUS there are many sites on the Internet today which offer Free Email Accounts! I send out 1,000+ emails every week--that's 4,000+ emails every month!

5. Trade Ads & Links--Other business people also need to advertise, so I trade ads with them and they trade ads with me. No money exchanges hands and both of us gets what each of us needs, without spending any money! You can also trade links with other businesses on the Internet at no cost to either of you.

6. Member Profiles--With an email account, you might be allowed to put up info about yourself or your business, within a "Member Profile." Other email account holders can read all about you and your business without cost.

7. Websites--It costs very little to put up your own website, and some locations on the web will give you a Free site! Put info about your business on your site and people will find you, 24 hours a day!

8. Free Postings--Many companies offer Free Ads and "Postings" on the web, if you visit them regularly and tell others about their sites. There are many "Bulletin Boards," which my Internet Provider offers to every member.

9. Newsletters--You can publish your own Newsletter on paper, and on the Internet for very little money, PLUS your OWN ads can be placed on them without cost to you.

10. Responsive Ads--The ads which I DO place, all require that the reader respond, and I usually ask for a stamped, return envelope or $1 for postage, meaning every response costs me next to nothing to fill back to them what they've requested.

11. Directories--There are many Directories that are printed on a yearly basis. A listing in each one can bring a regular flow of responses to your mailbox every day.

12. Search Engines--These are the Directories of the Internet. Most will list your website location without cost, although some are beginning to charge for listings. Get listed and get a regular flow of new people to your website every day.

13. Letterhead--Make sure that your business name, address, fax number and email address is on each one. This will help people get in touch with you. It's like placing a free ad, every time you send out a letter. In addition, be sure to include a small ad at the end of your emails. It's like getting a free ad with every email you send.
