Is "Getting Rich Quick" Always a Scam or Fantasy? Here's the Shocking Truth About Making Money Fast.
By Roosevelt Bennett, Jr.
Have you ever wondered why no matter what type of business or industry you choose to enter, there always seems to be only a handful of men and women who are able to make huge amounts of money very quickly while the majority of everyone else is struggling just to slowly break even?
We are all aware of con artists and snake oil salesmen who swindle the unsuspecting public out of their hard-earned money with "get rich quick" schemes and scams. As a result, making money fast has gotten a bad rap in our society. Just mentioning the words "get rich quick" will immediately raise suspicion and criticism among the industry elites. And to a point, I'm in support of this attitude. Caution must always be exercised when building any business fast.
However, I'm also in support of the position held by renowned business-building wizard T. Harve Eker, who says, "Getting rich quick is the wave of the future."
Most people have been taught to build their business in small steps, slowly and methodically over a long period of time, while a select group of savvy insiders have discovered the secret to building their business in quantum leaps.
Over the years, I've read most of the articles written by industry experts warning about chain letters, gifting programs, pyramid schemes and get-rich-quick plans advertised through blind ads. I've also investigated articles written on legitimate money-making ventures that transformed ordinary people into success stories literally overnight.
The following is a brief list of principle suggestions for creating success quickly. I found these factors almost always present when "Speed Wealth" appears:
1. Create a Wealth Consciousness--Develop a wealth consciousness which say, "I am worthy to receive riches from a universe overflowing with abundance." Most people live their entire lives with a consciousness of lack. They believe there is only so much wealth to go around and that there is only room at the top for a few people to get rich. Once that number is filled, that's it.
What they fail to understand is that currency speaks of the flow of energy which sustains the universe. Money is only a symbol of this energy. Therefore, wealth is all around us. It flows through every blade of grass, in every mountain stream, in the flight of the song bird, in the cry of a newborn baby.
2. Borrow--Take concepts, ideas, and technologies from one industry and bring them over into another. Of all the principles of "Speed Wealth," building this one may be the most profound. I have observed case after cast of marketing experts taking ideas and technologies from one industry and moving them into another, resulting in almost "instant riches." Eileen and TJ Rohleder who are among the wealthiest entrepreneurs in the entire opportunity seeker market, did it with the "Dialing for Dollars" program. Joe Schroeder did it with his "Quick Link" system. Russ Von Hoelscher is doing it with his Internet marketing programs.
3. Perception of Value--You must deliver or create the perception of value with an "original" product. This principle goes hand in hand with principle number two. Most entrepreneurs aren't able to come up with that one blockbuster product that can bring quick success because they never produce anything original. When an exciting new product or service hits the market, it's perceived value will dwarf everything around it until the demand for it begins to subside. Where do original product ideas come from? You guess it--other industries!
4. Blast Gaps into the Marketplace--Take advantage of your competitor's mistakes. This is what is known as guerrilla marketing and it's one of the sure-fire way to gain an instant strategic advantage in any market you choose to enter. How did Tylenol overtake aspirin as the No. 1 analgesic? By running ads that exploited the bad press which was running through the media about the side effects of aspirin.
5. Transplant an Already Successful Business--Finding a business that is thriving in one place and transplanting it into another area where it doesn't already exist can make you a lot of money very quickly. T. Harve. Eker used this method to start a home fitness store in Canada after he discovered them to be popular in Los Angeles. In his first year, he recorded $850,000 in sales, expanded to ten stores with $7 million in gross revenues in less than three years before cashing out at $1.6 million.
6. Duplicate a Simple Process--The principle of duplication is the hallmark of "Speed Wealth." We've all seen the infomercial by Don Lepree, which talks about placing one tiny little classified ad in a newspaper which makes a small profit and then rolling out that ad in thousands of papers all over the country. Literally any system which succeeds on a small scale can be quickly rolled out on a larger scale producing extraordinary results fast.
7. Broadcast Your Message Rapidly--The power of this principle should be obvious. Mediums like talk radio have been responsible for transforming unknown products like Breath Assure and Breath Right into national bestsellers on grocery store shelves in a matter of weeks. Television programs like QVC and the Home Shopping Network have made ordinary people rich in a matter of days. Once you have a successful message surrounding a hot product and place it before a huge market of hungry buyers, you can take the concept of making money slowly over a long period of time and throw it away.
The shocking truth is that there are now thousands of people who are making fortunes very quickly through legitimate business ventures. Making it a far more common occurrence than most people might think and with the rise of new technologies like the Internet, it is destined to become an accepted practice.
