MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

News releases, product announcements, feature articles, direct mail packages and press kits are professionally prepared to showcase your business/product to prospective customers or funding groups. You'll find our prices the most competitive in the industry:

News Release (single page w/letterhead): $250

New Product Announcement (1-2 pages): $300

Feature Article (1,000-1,500 words): $500

Direct Mail Package (letter, product flyer, response card, testimonial sheet): $1,500

Press Kit (news release, biographical sketch, feature article, radio approach card): $1,000

MANUSCRIPT REVIEW

Business documents, feature articles, short stories, novels and nonfiction books are reviewed, edited and returned with a written report. Manuscript review is charged at $3 per page ($30 minimum). Fees for longer works (books, novels) will be negotiated at a slightly lower fee.

SEMINARS

Many of our seminars are offered at colleges throughout California, however the programs may also be presented privately to writer's organizations, clubs, small businesses and corporations. The three-hour programs are charged at $49 per person ($500 minimum). Full-day (six-hour) programs can be created for your group or business and charged at $99 per person ($1,000 minimum).

Writing For Magazines: How to Break In-- Learn the "ins and outs" of nonfiction magazine writing and a proven formula for selling your articles. The seminar covers query letters, conducting interviews, style, leads and endings, using quotes and marketing. Handout provided.

Writing Fiction: Taking the Plunge-- Many of us have stories and novels inside, aching to be written. This seminar covers the fiction basics to get you started: Plot and structure, viewpoint, characterization, dialogue, description, scenes, revision and marketing. Handouts provided.

Promoting Your Business Through Print and Radio-- Use these proven methods to write winning news releases, press kits, product descriptions and direct mail letters. Also covers the radio approach card, a winning technique for booking yourself on talk radio. Handouts provided.

How to Improve Your Business Writing-- Everyday business writing made easy! Covers business letters, memos, reports and the basics of effective communication. Essential information for your business and employees. Handouts provided.

Writing the Story of Your Life-- Learn to organize your life memories in an exciting, dynamic format and leave a treasured record of your life for family and future generations. Covers techniques for using memories, organizing ideas, improving sentences structure, word usage and "letting go." Three hours of writing fun! Handouts provided.


In addition to the above programs, Mike Foley is also available as a speaker for your business or writing organization. Topics and dates should be scheduled 4-6 months in advance.

WRITING RETREATS

Weekend retreats for writers are held in the spring and autumn in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains near Big Bear Lake, CA. The programs allow participants to "live as writers" for an entire weekend. In addition to workshop/exercise sessions, participants have plenty of "open" writing time to work on individual projects. Private mentoring sessions with Mike Foley are also available. A relaxing weekend of writing and friendship! The $399 price includes meals and accommodations--an incredible deal! LITERARY COACHING

Coaching services are available for those writers who want ongoing help with writing projects and problems. In addition to 30 pages of manuscript critique per month, writers also receive a weekly telephone consultation to discuss manuscript issues and problems related to self-discipline, writing techniques, lack of support, identifying weaknesses, self-confidence and submission guidance. Coaching is offered in a variety of price options to fit your needs and budget, starting at $200 per month.
